Funchal - Monte Cable Car
The journey leads over the old part of the town and crosses the Ribeira de João Gomes further up. After which the route passes through less urban areas, allowing passengers to enjoy the dazzling view over Funchal's amphitheatre.
The cable car now provides an easier, shorter and more comfortable access to the picturesque village of Monte.

The cable car at Achadas da Cruz (Porto Moniz) is an attractive and modern type of transport conecting the Achadas da Cruz and the beach.
Regularly used by farmers coming up with their cropsas many locals have their lands down there and to facilitate their access was one of the main reasons that led to the installation of this cable car.

Rancho Cable Car
The cable car at Rancho (near Cabo Girão) has been open since August 2003. It was built as a means of transportation for farmers making it easier when bringing their crops all the way up to the top. There are two cabins with 6 seats each connecting Rancho and Fajãs do Cabo Girão.

There is a restaurant and snackbar serving typical dishes like the 'espada' (black scabbard fish), the 'picado' (traditional meet dish) or the 'polvo de escabeche' (one of the many possible preparations of octopus).
