Shopping Centres

There are plenty of shopping centres in Madeira, most of which are located in the centre of Funchal. The shopping centres are usually open throughout the week from 10.00 to 10.00 pm.

• Marina Shopping - is the biggest shopping centre in downtown Funchal, opposite the marina.
• Galerias de São Lourenço - is a small but attractive shopping mall.
• Galerias de São Francisco - The most recent one of all those in the city centre although it is quite small there are some lovely shops, fruit and snack bars. It has a connection to the Madeira Wine Company (or Blandy’s Wine Lodge), which you can also visit at the same time.
• Tavira and Sé - offer very diversified shops and interesting offers.
• Bazar do Povo - Funchal’s only department store, with its wooden floors and spacious wooden stairs is maintaining its old world charm from the time when it was opened.
• Anadia Shopping - is one of the more recent and also bigger shopping centres.
• Europa - mainly frequented by locals and therefore maintains a nice local touch.
• Monumental Lido - shopping centre offers great shopping opportunites.

Last but not least, the most recent and biggest shopping centre on the island is Madeira Shopping, which is situated in the heights of Funchal.
